How to handle very young kung fu students?

You are right it is fully up to the student, him not listening and doing his best can be a real problem you asking this proves that you are a good instructor, most would just deal with it because his parent pays the bill. i think he should practice more with a class so that maybe he will feel the need to do better if he saw his fellow pupils advancing.
